PARA-Site is the first dynamic and interactive architectural prototype designed and built in Catalonia, Spain. The pavilion was created with a form-finding technique, equipped with sensors and activation systems to respond to external stimuli. PARA-Site is an experimental example of how the characteristics acquired during the formalization process can then be used to make the form reactive to its surroundings, with a capacity for structural and spatial adaptation. The whole research project and the design and fabrication of the prototype were developed by students and teachers in the Master in Advanced Design and Digital Architecture course and by the internal group of ELISAVA Escola Superior de de de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona.
