HALO Swarm is an interactive light installation installed at Scitech Discovery Centre in Perth, Australia. SWARM BEHAVIOUR, or swarming, is a collective behaviour exhibited by many entities, particularly animals, in which the individuals move en masse together without any central coordination. The aim of our project is to design a modular light system that follows the same principles to create beautiful complexity out of simple behaviours. By aggregating single elements, it is possible to achieve stunning lighting patterns, all the while allowing users to experience different relationships with light.
